The Minerals. What do they do for your body?

The lowdown on the 17 essential minerals

A guide to the Minerals

Minerals can be divided into two groups.

The ones that the body needs in relatively larger amounts, and what are called the 'trace metals or minerals' which we only need in very small quantities. As you'll see, many of the minerals we need for good health are found in other forms outside of the body, so unlike vitamins which are a crazily recent 20th century discovery many minerals have been known about for aeons. That's not to say we aren't still discovering exactly what these minerals get up to in our bodies though.

Click through on each of the minerals below for the whole story, plus ideas for incorporating them into your meals.
